WE CRIED POWER is a feature-length documentary film by Dara Kell, that examines the crisis of poverty through the perspective of the leaders and voices of a new social movement, the Poor People’s Campaign.
Often, impact campaign assets like these are out of reach for projects that don't have massive outreach budgets. The package that Looky Looky Pictures has put together would’ve been really hard for us to figure out and implement [on our own], especially when we're also in the throes of finishing our films.
The fact that you have this whole package [impact in a box], is amazing - I am so grateful. There is no reason that every single filmmaker should need to figure all this out from scratch.
I wish I'd had this for my first film and I still wish I had this because I am still getting requests for the first film. There are opportunities for me to do more educational sales but I just don’t have the capacity to market the film to educators as much as I would like to.

We first started working with Director Dara Kell and her second feature film, We Cried Power, as part of Good Pitch USA 2019 event, where we helped initiate partnerships for the film through the event.
In the lead up to Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January 2020, a significant day for the film’s impact, the film was inundated with requests for sneak peek screenings, but it was more than the film team could manage. It’s a good problem to have, but still a problem that needed solving!
Through some impact-in-a-box, we set up a lot of back end tech infrastructure to help streamline and semi-automate the management of screening requests, enhanced the website, social media, and newsletter to help enhance the film’s visual presence and brand, and solved some tricky domain routing issues.
